NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHY
Newborn photography can be so special for many reasons and it can also be a little overwhelming for pregnant mummies trying to book a newborn shoot. I’m sure you want to pick the perfect newborn photographer for you and I also bet you have so many questions!
I hope the below can be helpful in finding out what I offer and how I shoot.
Many newborn photographers you may have seen do certain poses and use lots of different props such as buckets or hats on your new baby. As cute as some of these can be, I prefer to have a baby led, natural session. I capture your baby within the first 14 days of being born (they are the sleepiest then!) exactly as they are. I capture them as they lay including every beautiful detail they have like their little ears, tiny toe nails and those luscious lips!
This means not only is every newborn shoot different, it’s totally unique to your baby, Photographing them in my warm, cosy studio I watch as they stretch, curl, and smile (it may be wind but it’s cute all the same!).
In my Colchester studio I choose not to use busy backdrops, props or outfits, but instead, I invite you into my white studio for classic modern images. I assist in what you and baby should come dressed in and supply style guides and shoot information so you have everything you need.
I suggest booking in at your 20 week scan to ensure you have a slot saved for when baby arrives. I only take a certain amount of newborns per month to allow to early/late arrivals. As soon as baby arrives, you email me, and we get a date booked in for your shoot.
My ultimate goal is to capture your baby’s personality, traits and markings along with parents/baby shots showing the emotion between you. I do not pose during my session, I merely give gentle direction to get the most natural portrait shots.
