Sweet family beach session | Essex

When the weather gets warmer and drier I just adore heading to the beach for gorgeous family photo shoots. I met with this adorable trio down at the sandy beach for fun and to capture natural moments between them.

Issuing them a useful style guide upon booking, Mum, borrowed a nude dress from the studio wardrobe and dressed her girls in matching white dresses. We ditched the sandals and footwear half way through and embraced bare foot adventures!

The beach is perfect for family shoots and there is the prettiest one only 20 minutes from me where I recommend to clients! It also has tufts of grass which, I must add, I've always loved on a beach. They just look so pretty and fluffy!

Outdoor shoots are good for so many reasons. They are less intrusive and feel more natural. The children can expend their energy (and they will be more tired when you get home so potentially earlier bedtime and more adult time to yourself!) and the variety is huge.

I have many families travelling for family shoots. I'm happy to travel too but often clients are keen to take advantage of my location spots chosen by myself. I have a few different backdrops I love to use, that fit my photography style perfectly and that are often not overcrowded.

Outdoor family shoots truly are one of my favourite to photograph. This shoot, was a particularly bright day but with the sun on their backs we had a wonderful locations, warm weather and great views.

I only shoot one outdoor shoot per day as I like to shoot at certain times for the better light. It's always good to book in advance so you can grab the date you're hoping for!

What children don't like the outdoors. I'm not sure I've found any yet! My sessions are always fun and relaxed and I have tips, tricks and games we play to bring out emotion and reactions.

Take a look through this Essex beach outdoor photo session and see what we got up to one summers evening on the sand....
